Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the Future of Agricultural Engineering Profession: Guest Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazmi Mat Nawi from UPM Malaysia

Yogyakarta, February 12, 2025 – As part of the Joint Supervision and Research Program 2024 between Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazmi Mat Nawi, Head of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at UPM, delivered a guest lecture in Room 384, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM. The lecture, moderated by Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., was titled "The Future of Agricultural Engineering Profession: Challenges and Opportunities in the IR 4.0 Era," and was part of the mandatory Engineering Profession course (TPPB212207). The event was attended by students, lecturers, and researchers from various related fields.

The lecture, held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM WIB, presented various challenges and opportunities faced by agricultural engineers in the age of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Assoc. Prof. Nazmi emphasized the importance of adaptation and innovation in addressing climate change, increasing food demand, and recent technological developments. He also discussed the application of Industry 4.0 in Malaysia's agricultural sector, providing valuable insights on agricultural modernization.
