Smart Agriculture Research Center UGM Lecturers and Researchers Share Insights on Digital Transformation at Japanese University

Yogyakarta, March 20, 2025 – Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., lecturer and researcher at Smart Agriculture Research Center (SARC) Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (TPB) Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), served as a speaker in a Sharing Session titled "Digital Transformation: Sharing, Brainstorming, Innovation." The event was organized by UGM's Digital Transformation Office (BTD) on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Radiopoetro Building, FKKMK UGM. The purpose of the event was to explore insights and best practices in digital transformation from foreign universities for adaptation at UGM.

Dr. Andri, an alumnus of Kyushu University Japan, shared experiences and practices in implementing digital technology at Kyushu University. He presented various digital services available, including crisis management systems, website portals, and other digital transformation initiatives. Dr. Andri also compared the implementation of digital technology at Kyushu University with the situation at UGM, highlighting UGM's well-developed digital services such as SSO, UGM Hotspot, and SIMPAN UGM, and provided recommendations for further development, particularly regarding alumni digital services.

The event was attended by members of the Digital Transformation Office and Digital Task Force UGM, UGM Core, and UGM AI. Besides Dr. Andri, other speakers who attended were Dr. techn. Guntur Budi Herwanto from FMIPA, who shared experiences from University of Vienna in Austria, and dr. Melysa Fitriana, Ph.D., and Dr. Vincent from FKKMK, who presented practices from Taipei Medical University. The discussion session guided by Dr. Dian generated diverse ideas and recommendations for UGM's digital transformation policy.

Dr. Andri's participation in this event demonstrates SARC's and the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering FTP UGM's active contribution to supporting digital transformation at UGM. The insights and experiences shared are expected to accelerate and optimize the digital transformation process at UGM, improving service quality and the university's competitiveness.
