SmartAgri UGM and PT. BISI International Tbk Inaugurate Smart Greenhouse System in Magelang, Driving IoT-Based Superior Seed Production
Magelang, June 16, 2025 – Smart Agriculture Research Center UGM has successfully completed the installation of Smart Greenhouse systems and equipment at PT. BISI International Tbk's agricultural facility, Farm Grabag, Magelang. The inauguration and final project presentation was attended directly by the President Director of PT. BISI International, Tbk, Mr. Agus Saputra Wijaya, marking the company's progress in adopting precision agriculture technology.
The overarching objective of this project is to prepare the production of superior seeds, particularly for tomato commodities. This integrated system harnesses Internet of Things (IoT) technology and data-driven systems to monitor and automatically control various environmental parameters within the greenhouse, thereby optimizing plant growth conditions and supporting sustainable horticultural innovation.
During the final presentation, the development team presented the system's functionality, which encompasses the optimization of growing conditions and support for sustainable horticultural innovation. With this system in place, PT. BISI International, Tbk is expected to increase operational efficiency, reduce harvest failure risks, and produce agricultural products with more consistent quality and superior characteristics.
Mr. Agus Saputra Wijaya expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this technology, affirming PT. BISI International, Tbk's commitment to adopting innovation to advance Indonesia's agricultural sector.
