Research Team from WGFS 1.2 Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming Attends Monitoring and Evaluation of PUAPT (Inter-University Excellence Center) First Semester 2025/2026

Yogyakarta, March 12, 2026 – The research team from WGFS 1.2 Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming, Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Gadjah Mada presented the progress of Working Group activities at the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of the Inter-University Excellence Center Program (PUAPT) First Semester Academic Year 2025/2026. The monev was held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Headquarters Office of Universitas Gadjah Mada. This activity aimed to record the achievements of research activities and various supporting activities conducted during the July–December 2025 period as part of documentation of PUAPT program performance throughout 2025.

In this activity, the WGFS 1.2 FTP UGM research team presented the achievements of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reached during the reporting period, including scientific publications, patents, international collaborations, and various academic activities and utilization of research facilities that support research development within the faculty. The presentation also covered various non-research supporting activities that contributed to strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem at FTP UGM.

FTP UGM's participation in this activity was part of the faculty's contribution to the Working Group Food Security (WGFS) 1.2 Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming program under PUAPT. This working group focuses on the development of precision agriculture technology and smart farming systems that utilize the integration of digital technology, sensors, and Internet of Things (IoT) to increase agricultural production efficiency, resource management, and sustainability of agricultural systems. These efforts are aligned with the commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through increased agricultural productivity, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through research-based technology development, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) in the efficient and sustainable management of agricultural resources.

This monitoring and evaluation activity became an important part in ensuring the sustainability of the PUAPT program and assessing the impact of research activities conducted. In addition to presenting the achievements of activities, the research team also presented a systematic self-evaluation of performance accompanied by supporting evidence as the basis for program assessment.

The WGFS 1.2 FTP UGM team in this monitoring and evaluation activity was represented by Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D, IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., Ardan Wiratmoko, S.T.P., M.Sc., Muhammad Athala Fawwaz Dzaky, S.T.P., Samuel Gatot Marseno, S.T.P., and Mutiara Alifia Ramadhanty who presented the development of research achievements and the contribution of research activities conducted within the framework of the PUAPT program. Through this activity, the FTP UGM research team also contributed to demonstrating the development of research achievements resulting from the utilization of various research equipment procured in the PUAPT program.

As a follow-up to this monitoring activity, the evaluation team was also planned to conduct site visits to several work units from the end of March to early April 2026 to verify the conformity of documents on equipment usage with actual field conditions. The results of this visit would later become part of the monitoring and evaluation report for PUAPT First Semester 2025/2026.

Previously, Universitas Gadjah Mada had held a socialization activity for PUAPT Monitoring and Evaluation on February 26, 2026 attended by research teams from various faculties, including FTP UGM. This socialization aimed to provide understanding regarding the mechanism of monitoring and evaluation implementation as well as documents that needed to be prepared by each research team.

In this socialization activity, research teams were asked to prepare presentations on research activity achievements and PUAPT supporting activities for the July–December 2025 period using the provided template. Additionally, the teams were also asked to update Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and fill in the self-evaluation rubric accompanied by supporting evidence to facilitate the program performance assessment process.

The active participation of the WGFS 1.2 FTP UGM research team in this monitoring and evaluation activity demonstrated the faculty's commitment to maintaining the quality and sustainability of research activities, while strengthening FTP UGM's contribution to the development of science, technology, and innovation that impacts society.
