SmartAgri FTP UGM Researcher Serves as Speaker at Polbangtan Bogor National Seminar on Smart Farming for Sustainable Food Self-Sufficiency

Yogyakarta, June 2026 – Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada and member of the Smart Agriculture Research Center (SmartAgri), will serve as a speaker at the 8th Dies Natalis National Seminar of Politeknik Pembangunan Pertanian (Polbangtan) Bogor with the theme "Smart Farming as a Strategy for Sustainable Food Self-Sufficiency".
The event organized by Polbangtan Bogor will be held online on June 24, 2026 via Zoom Meeting platform and YouTube live streaming. The seminar will bring together academics, practitioners, and industry stakeholders who are committed to the transformation of agriculture toward more efficient, productive, and sustainable production systems.
On this occasion, Dr. Andri Prima Nugroho will present material on "Implementation of Smart Farming to Increase Agricultural Production Efficiency Supporting Sustainable Food Self-Sufficiency." This topic is highly relevant in addressing the challenges of modern agriculture, such as limited resources, climate change, increasing food demand, and the need for production efficiency.
Smart farming is a technology-based agricultural approach that leverages sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation systems to support more precise decision-making. The implementation of these technologies is expected to increase productivity, improve the efficiency of agricultural input use, and promote the sustainability of the national food production system.
In addition to Dr. Andri Prima Nugroho, the seminar will also feature Prof. Dr. Sofyan Sjaf, S.Pt., M.Si. (Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology, IPB University) and drh. Deddy Fachruddin Kurniawan, M.Vet. (Founder and CEO of Dairy Pro Indonesia and MOOSA Genetics) as keynote speakers.
Through this activity, it is hoped that stronger collaboration will be built among universities, government, industry, and communities in developing agricultural technology innovations that can support the realization of sustainable food self-sufficiency in Indonesia.
The seminar is open to academics, researchers, students, practitioners, extension officers, and the general public who have an interest in the development of agricultural technology and smart farming innovation.
