FTP UGM Receives PUAPT Site Visit to Strengthen Center of Excellence Sustainability

Yogyakarta, August 5, 2026 – The Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) Universitas Gadjah Mada received a Site Visit from the Inter-University Center of Excellence Program (PUAPT) organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. The activity took place at the PUAPT laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology as part of the visiting agenda to various work units receiving the PUAPT program within UGM. The site visit was conducted to ensure the sustainability of the facilities and activities that have been developed through the PUAPT Program for Fiscal Year 2024.

One of the laboratories visited was the Smart Agriculture Research Center (SmartAgri). On this occasion, the SmartAgri team introduced various innovations and research facilities supporting the development of precision agricultural technology, ranging from Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart agriculture systems, the use of drones and remote sensing, to the application of Artificial Intelligence in supporting decision-making in the agricultural sector. The various research presented demonstrated SmartAgri's commitment to producing technology-based solutions that are adaptive to the needs of modern agriculture.

During the activity, the SmartAgri team presented various development achievements, utilization of research equipment, and research activities that have been ongoing since the implementation of the PUAPT program. The visit also provided an opportunity for the evaluation team to directly observe the implementation of various research facilities used to support education and research. In addition to inspecting the laboratory infrastructure, discussions were held regarding the development of the center of excellence to ensure it continues to provide sustainable benefits for the academic community and the general public.

This site visit activity was part of the evaluation process for the sustainability of facilities and activities that have been developed through the PUAPT Program. During the visit, the evaluation team directly inspected the utilization of research equipment, laboratory activities, and the implementation of various programs that have been carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. Additionally, the team obtained an understanding of the laboratory's contribution in supporting education and research activities. The results of this site visit are expected to serve as input for efforts to improve the quality of center of excellence management within UGM.

Through the implementation of the PUAPT Site Visit, FTP UGM reaffirms its commitment to continuously develop laboratories as centers for research, innovation, and collaboration that provide tangible impact for society. This activity is expected to support the sustainable development of centers of excellence at UGM while strengthening the university's contribution in producing innovations relevant to national needs.
