SmartAgri UGM Team Conducts Comprehensive Maintenance of Smart Greenhouse System and Equipment at PT BISI International, Magelang

MAGELANG — Researchers from the Smart Agriculture Research Center (SmartAgri) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) carried out comprehensive maintenance of the smart greenhouse system and equipment at PT BISI International, Grabag, Magelang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday, June 4, 2026. This activity is part of efforts to maintain the reliability and operational sustainability of smart agriculture technology that has been implemented at the site.

The maintenance was carried out by three SmartAgri UGM researchers: Muhammad Athala Fawwaz Dzaky, S.T.P., Fadel Arya Pradana, S.Si., and Fathuzaky Setyawan, S.T.P. The team conducted a comprehensive series of inspections on each component of the smart greenhouse system to ensure all devices functioned optimally and were ready to support production activities and research at the location.

This routine maintenance activity included inspections of all system elements, from environmental sensors, actuators, and control systems, to device connectivity. The comprehensive inspection was performed to ensure data accuracy, device performance stability, and reliable communication between components, so that the system could work consistently over the long term.

Smart greenhouse integrates sensors, actuators, and control systems based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor and automatically regulate growing environment conditions. With this system, parameters such as temperature, humidity, and irrigation can be managed with precision, thus supporting resource efficiency while maintaining plant productivity. Regular maintenance is required so that all components continue to operate according to standards and are protected from operational disruptions.

This maintenance activity also reflects SmartAgri UGM's commitment to guiding the implementation of smart agriculture technology in the industrial sector. Collaboration with PT BISI International demonstrates synergy between higher education and industry in promoting the adoption of precision technology in crop cultivation.

Through comprehensive maintenance conducted on an ongoing basis, the smart greenhouse system at PT BISI International is expected to continue operating optimally and support the smooth running of production and research activities taking place at the site.
