Momentum Builds: SmartAgri UGM Strengthens Research-to-Industry Ties on Day Two of INAGRITECH 2026

Building on a strong opening, SmartAgri UGM's second day at INAGRITECH 2026 mixed live demos, senior guests, and new collaboration talks at booth A2K4-04.

Jakarta, July 29, 2026. The Smart Agriculture Research Center (SmartAgri) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) carried its opening-day momentum into the second day of INAGRITECH 2026, Indonesia's largest agricultural technology exhibition, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Booth A2K4-04 stayed busy from the morning onward, as a steady flow of visitors returned for a closer look at the center's precision-agriculture research.

If the first day was about first impressions, the second was about depth. Casual booth visits turned into hands-on demonstrations and detailed conversations about how smart farming tools actually work in the field, from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imaging and multispectral mapping to sensor-based crop monitoring and data-driven decision-making.

Deeper Conversations, Hands-On Demos

Much of the day's interest centered on SmartAgri's remote-sensing work. Team members walked visitors through UAV and multispectral field maps, showing how aerial imagery can reveal crop stress, guide water and fertilizer use, and turn an entire field into actionable data. Others gathered around the booth table for a hands-on look at the sensing instruments the team develops and uses in its research.

The questions grew more specific as the day went on, a sign that visitors were not only curious about the technology but were weighing how it might fit their own operations, from smallholder plots to industrial-scale farming.

New Faces, a Wider Network

The second day also widened SmartAgri's circle of contacts. Among the guests were senior figures from academia and industry who stopped by to learn about the center's work, alongside students, practitioners, and prospective partners. Several of these conversations opened the door to potential collaboration on developing and applying agricultural technology in Indonesia.

For the SmartAgri team, these exchanges are the real value of the exhibition: a chance to see how campus research resonates with the people who would ultimately use it, and to bring the journey from laboratory to field a step closer. INAGRITECH 2026 runs through July 30, 2026, and the SmartAgri booth remains open to visitors interested in its research and collaboration opportunities.
